The RCMP Southeast District Emergency Response Team was deployed to assist West Kelowna RCMP in the apprehension of a man wanted on numerous warrants.
Mounties determined the West Kelowna man, wanted for charges that include driving while prohibited, mischief, dangerous operating and flight from police, was at a residence in the 3000-block of Cougar Road on Tuesday, Aug. 3.
Officers established an area of containment and, out of an abundance of caution, the Emergency Response Team was called in to help.
The suspect, 43-year-old Michael Collins, was taken into custody.
His case is now before the courts, and no further information on the arrest is expected to be released.
