Interior Health records 205 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Interior Health region rose to 3,084 Tuesday as 205 new cases were confirmed.
The new cases are part of the 501 identified throughout the province and there are now 5,296 active cases in British Columbia.
Of those active cases, 111 individuals are in hospital due to COVID-19 complications with 51 in intensive care. Of those patients, 41 are located in the Interior Health region, and 22 of those individuals are in intensive care.
One new death was confirmed Tuesday, bringing the provincial COVID-19 death toll up to 1,781.
There are still 10 active outbreaks at health-care facilities in B.C, including the Nelson Jubilee Manor, Kootenay Street Village, Cottonwoods Care Centre, Brookhaven Care Centre in the Interior Health region.
Three assisted or independent living facilities in the Interior, Village at Mill Creek’s second floor, Hawthorn Park and David Loyd are also listed as outbreak sites.
In the meantime, the province said the COVID-19 vaccination rate for eligible recipients age 12 and over increased to 82.7 per cent Tuesday, with 73.5 of the eligible British Columbians fully vaccinated with two doses.

· Nelson Jubilee Manor has four cases: one resident and three staff, with one death connected to the outbreak.
· Kootenay Street Village in Cranbrook has three cases: one resident and two staff.
· Brookhaven Care Centre in West Kelowna has 26 cases: seven residents and 19 staff.
· Cottonwoods Care Centre long-term care in Kelowna has 23 cases: 15 residents and eight staff.
· Hawthorn Park assisted/independent living in Kelowna has five cases: one resident and four staff.
· David Lloyd Jones long-term care in Kelowna has 16 cases: 11 residents and five staff.
· Village at Mill Creek assisted living/independent living in Kelowna has two cases: one resident and one staff.
· Nicola Meadows assisted living/independent living in Merritt has five cases: two residents and three staff.
