Rockets ‘heartbroken’ after loss of team bus driver

Members of the Kelowna Rockets are mourning the loss of the WHL team’s bus driver.

Justin Bosher, 54, died in a motorcycle accident near Kamloops on Wednesday.

“The Rockets organization has suffered a great loss of an unbelievable friend and family man in Justin, or as we called him JB,” said Rockets head coach Kris Mallette.

“This is a terrible loss for all of those who knew him, he was a fantastic human being. He treated our staff and players like his own family, he drove us safely every time he got behind the wheel. There was never a worry in our minds, he was someone that we knew wherever we were going, we were getting there safely. He won’t be easily replaced,” Mallette said.

“I loved listening to his stories when he talked about how proud he was of his family and how much he loved his wife and sons,” Mallette added. “I’m really going to miss how much he enjoyed hearing about our families, and how much he cared about our team and our players. It’s a terrible loss for those who were lucky enough to know JB, he’s gone way too soon. Our thoughts are with the Bosher family, our staff and players send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

“We’re heartbroken,” said Rockets president and general manager Bruce Hamilton.

“We’ve lost a wonderful member of the Rockets family, our love and condolences go out to his wife, Joanne, and his sons, Josh and Jeremy.”
