An extensive investigation into an alleged fraud involving a Kelowna area Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) has resulted in charges being filed against a woman.

The investigation was launched in December of 2018, when Kelowna RCMP received a report of the alleged fraud involving a local PAC.

Kelowna RCMP Fraud Section worked closely with school officials and executive members of the PAC in question to gather information and advance their investigation.

Mounties said the investigation has come to a head, and the B.C. Prosecution Service has now charged 46-year-old Andrea Blanchard with a number of offences:

  • Fraud
  • Theft over $5,000
  • Forgery
  • Using a forged document
  • Altering books or document to defraud

The matter is now before the courts.
