Snowfall warning issued for North and Central Okanagan

Snow is expected to fall in the North and Central Okanagan starting Friday night.

Environment Canada said 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected to begin overnight and continue into Saturday.

“A Pacific frontal system moving across the B.C. Interior will give snow to most southern BC regions,” said the weather agency. “The snow will ease to a few flurries Saturday evening as the frontal system exits the region.”

Enderby, Lumby, Armstrong, West Kelowna and Peachland could see the highest most amounts.

Environment Canada added motorists should be prepared to adjust their driving with changing road conditions.

“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”

Residents are advised to watch for any updated weather statements or warnings.
