UPDATE: RCMP recover vehicle associated to wanted man in Vernon

A vehicle associated with an assault suspect in West Kelowna has been recovered in Vernon.
On Jan. 5, 2022 West Kelowna RCMP issued a media release asking for the public’s assistance in tracking down a West Kelowna man, wanted in connection to a violent assault. The media release stated that Dayton Lloyd McAlpine was believed to be driving a 2009 white Ford Focus.
At approximately 10:50 p.m. on that same day, Vernon RCMP officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 3700-block of 27th Avenue. A witness observed a male and female depart the vehicle on foot. Officers with assistance from Police Dog Services, searched the area but did not locate the individuals.
The vehicle was confirmed to be the 2009 white Ford Focus and has since been recovered.
The West Kelowna RCMP is still seeking information related to the whereabouts of Dayton Lloyd McAlpine. Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880. RCMP search for wanted man following violent assault

A manhunt is underway as police search for a West Kelowna man wanted in connection with a violent assault.
RCMP were called to a residence on Cameron Road in West Kelowna on the morning of Dec. 31 for a report of an assault.
“The assault was isolated to the residence involved and the suspect, 34-year-old Dayton Lloyd McAlpine, had fled prior to police arrival,” said Cpl. Tammy Lobb, media relations officer.
McAlpine has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
McAlpine is a Caucasian male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 130 lbs, and has blonde hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo of “DLM” on his right forearm.
He may be driving a white 2009 Ford Focus sedan with British Columbia licence plate KJ527A.
“RCMP warn the general public not to approach McAlpine and if he is spotted, to call 911 immediately,” Lobb advised.
