UPDATE: Crash closes highway south of Vernon

Highway 97 south of Vernon has reopened.
No further details about the crash have been released by RCMP.

A serious crash has closed Highway 97 south of Vernon.
RCMP said at 10:15 a.m., two vehicles were involved near Bernie Road (landfill turnoff).
“At this time, Highway 97 is fully closed to traffic in both directions. A detour has been established and all traffic is being directed to use Mission Road and Commonage Road,” said Constable Chris Terleski, media relations officer.
