Fire damages garage of Kelowna home

A garage at a residence in Kelowna’s Black Mountain area was damaged in a fire Monday afternoon.

Kelowna Fire crews responded to the residence in the 1000 block of Bramble Court at approximately 2:45 p.m.

The fire, which was burning on the exterior roof of a single family dwelling, was extinguished by the first hose team.

The damage was contained to the garage portion of the home, which suffered structural damage to the roof and interior area.

A male construction worker received burns on his hands during the fire. He was treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further treatment.

The fire was deemed accidental in nature.
