Interior Health leading province in new COVID-19 cases
Interior Health (IH) had the highest number of new COVID-19 cases among B.C’s five health regions on Tuesday with 376.
Northern Health was next highest with 192.
Active cases in IH were at 7,844, an increase of 314 since Monday.
Around the province, 1,117 new infections were recorded.
There are 24,372 active cases of COVID-19 in the province (increase of 633), with 986 people in hospital (decrease of 1) and 146 in intensive care (increase of 5).
No new deaths were reported Tuesday, keeping the overall total at 2,707.
There has been one new health-care facility outbreak at Rest Haven Lodge in Island Health.
The outbreaks at Langley Memorial Hospital, Cascade Lodge (Fraser Health) and Beacon Hill Villa (Island Health) have been declared over, for a total of 55 facilities with ongoing outbreaks. Twenty of the outbreaks are in Interior Health, as shown below.

As of today, 90.3 per cent of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 84.7 per cent have had two shots and 50.2 per cent of residents 12 and older have had three shots.
