Interior records 84 new COVID-19 cases, 14 deaths confirmed across B.C
The Interior again was home to the most new COVID-19 cases Wednesday.
There were 84 new cases identified in the Interior, with Island Health having the second highest new case figure at 77. A total of 274 new cases were confirmed across the province on March 9.
There were 14 deaths linked to the virus reported Wednesday, though none were located in the Interior. To date, 2,929 British Columbians have died due to COVID-19.
As of Wednesday there were 405 British Columbians in hospital with COVID-19, down 14 from the day prior. Of those patients, 58 were in intensive care, five fewer than the total ICU patients Tuesday.
The Interior’s hospitalization figures remain unchanged with 90 COVID-19 positive patients, 11 of whom were in intensive care.
The provincial vaccination rates for residents aged five and over were recorded at 90.7 per cent coverage for first doses and 86.6 per cent for second jabs. Additionally, 58.2 per cent of B.C.’s adult population have received a COVID booster.
