Toddler walker and teethers recalled as potential choking hazards
Two recalls have been issued by Battat Toys with potential choking hazards.
On Wednesday, Mar. 16, a recall was issued for B. toys Wooden Activity Toddler Walker – Walk ‘n’ Learn because a nut securing the wheel on the wooden toddler walkers can loosen, potentially causing the wheel, bolt and bearing to detach. If this were to occur then small parts would be released, creating a potential choking hazard.
Health Canada said there have been two reports of the wheels coming off and small parts being released, but there have been no reports of injuries. There have been four similar incidents reported in the United States, but again, no injuries.
The models of the affected wooden activity walker include BX2008, BX2095 and BX2126. The products have yellow slides, blue wheels and multicoloured activity features on the front. The 2008 and 2095 models have an orange plastic backing while the 2126 model only has a canvas base.

If needed, customers can request a free repair kit from Maison Battat Inc., which includes the tools and hardware needed to complete the repair.
The company also issued a recall earlier in the week for its Firefly Frank Teether.
The plastic wings on the teether can break off, also creating a choking hazard to young children.
Customers are advised to immediately take the recalled teethers away from young children and return them to any Hudson’s Bay location, with or without a receipt, to receive a full refund.
There have been no reports of incidents or injuries due to the recalled Firefly Teether in Canada, but there have been 14 cases of the toy breaking in the United States, one of which result in a child choking on a broken piece.
