It has been eight years since the Canadian Snowbirds performed a show in the Central Okanagan, but they will be back this summer.

On July 9 and 10, the jets will perform over Okanagan Lake.

Kelowna International Airport is marking 75 years in service this year, and an invite for the Snowbirds to be part of it, was accepted.

The Snowbirds, officially known as 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, are the military aerobatics flight demonstration team of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

The team is based at 15 Wing Moose Jaw near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
