BCHL broadcaster removed after racist comment
A broadcaster for a B.C. Hockey League team has apologized on social media for making racist comments that got him pulled off the air in the middle of a game.
Alberni Valley Bulldogs colour commentator Bruce MacDonald was calling a playoff game against the Langley Rivermen on Friday when he asked whether Rivermen forward Owen Kim speaks English.
The comment came after Kim was involved in a dust-up in the second period.
Play-by-play broadcaster Evan Hammond said immediately that MacDonald went too far, and the BC Hockey League says it has quote — zero tolerance for this type of behaviour.

Global News said the Bulldogs removed MacDonald from the broadcast and released a statement apologizing and saying he was banned from future broadcasts.
Bulldogs president David Michaud said it was good that MacDonald apologized, but that it wasn’t enough.
