Man hit by garbage truck
Kelowna RCMP is investigating an accident that left one man injured.
Officers learned that a garbage truck had hit a man who may have been sleeping in the area near garbage bins by a business on Banks Road early Monday morning
The 26-year-old man who was hit left on foot before police got there.
They found him not too far away and he was taken to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
“The investigation into the cause of this collision is underway and Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) has been engaged,” said Cpl. Tammy Lobb, media relations officer. “The Kelowna RCMP continues to work closely with our partners at the City of Kelowna Community Safety Unit and Bylaw Services to support vulnerable individuals in our community”.
