Some legends in Canadian music have been lined up for the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival in August.

Tom Cochrane and his band will play at the event on Friday, Aug. 19.

Singer-songwriter Jann Arden will close out the four-day festival on Sunday, Aug. 21.

The event, from Aug. 18–21, will be celebrating its 30th anniversary.

“We couldn’t be happier with the current lineup,” artistic director Kevin Tobin told Vernon Matters. “After two years of online festivals, it’s the perfect way to bring our community together to celebrate the festival’s 30th birthday. This is shaping up to be a true landmark year for the Salmon ArmROOTSandBLUES.”

“Ticket sales for the 30th annual ROOTSandBLUES are strong,” Tobin remarked. “There’s real, palpable excitement for the return of an in-person event, and based on current sales, the community is telling us that they are ready to celebrate together again.”

In 2019, the 27th annual festival attracted nearly 30,000 people and featured more than 30 performers.

After cancelling the 28th annual event due to COVID-19, the Salmon Arm Folk Music Society provided a free virtual festival featuring pre-recorded performances in 2020 and 2021.
