Interior saw COVID-19 numbers fall across the board

The weekly COVID-19 update shows that all rates were down week to week in the Interior.

The report from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) stated that 445 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Interior Health between May 1 and 7.

During that week, there were also 50 people admitted to hospital in the Interior with COVID-19, and 10 deaths in the Interior linked to the virus.

Those figures were all down from the previous week, which saw 526 new COVID-19 cases, 61 hospital admissions and 18 deaths in the Interior.

In the May 1 to 7 week, there were a total of 1,987 COVID-19 cases confirmed in B.C. There were also 331 British Columbians admitted to hospital with the virus, and 59 deaths due to COVID-19.

To date, there have been 65,435 COVID-19 cases and 367 deaths due to the virus in the Interior. In all of B.C. there have been 367,559 cases and 3,002 deaths.
