Mission Creek Greenway expansion official opening

Central Okanagan residents are invited to celebrate the official opening of the expanded Mission Creek Greenway and more than a quarter century of fundraising support by the Friends of Mission Creek.

Join the RDCO and Friends society at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27 as they officially mark the opening of two trails:

• 2.3-kilometer expansion of the Mission Creek Greenway (Phase 3)
• 240-meter Pinnacle Trail

The ceremonies take place at the Field Road entrance to Scenic Canyon Regional Park (3965 Field Road) and will be followed at 11 a.m. by two interpretative hikes available for members of the public:

• 1 hour round trip to KLO Creek
• 1:45 round trip of Pinnacle Trail and expanded Mission Creek Greenway

Those taking part on the hikes are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear and dress for weather conditions.
