Man finds out he won $1M lottery prize while checking emails

Imagine looking through your emails and finding out you have won $1-million — and it wasn’t a hoax.

That was the case for Greg Gauthier and his wife who were notified by email that Gauthier won that amount from the May 7, 2022 Lotto 6/49 draw.

“We are quite excited,” Gauthier said. “Our first reaction was ‘that is too many zeros!’”

The Kamloops resident purchased his ticket from PlayNow.com and says he also enjoys playing the lottery with a group at work.

He and his wife first shared the news with their children.

“They are quite excited for us,” he remarked.

The millionaire plans to celebrate his major windfall over a nice family dinner. He looks forward to taking a trip to the East coast and perhaps somewhere hot.

Gauthier is also planning to help out his family.

“My biggest feeling was that I can now look into the future and put my kids and grandson in a great place. I’m able to make life easier for my family and I really enjoy helping out,” he said.
