A woman who hit a diagonal culvert and fell while cycling on the Myra Canyon Trail on Wednesday was helped out of the area by Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR).
Eight search team members were called-on by BC Ambulance to access, stabilize and transport the older woman who fell hard on her left side.
“Information was that subject was not mobile, in shock, but vitals were stable,” a COSAR news release stated. “Members of the e-bike team reached [the] subject in between trestle 7 & 8 and assessed, and stabilized her.”
The woman suffered numerous upper body injures and suspected internal injuries.
She was transported by the group’s ultra terrain vehicle to a waiting ambulance.
