Environment Canada is forecasting some heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours.
A special weather statement has been issued for the North Okanagan, including Vernon, and the Central Okanagan, including Kelowna, as a low pressure centre moves over the region.
The weather agency said the moisture rotating around will potentially bring prolonged rainfall Monday through Tuesday.
It’s forecasted that between 20 and 40 millimetres of rain is expected to fall before Tuesday afternoon.
Environment Canada stated that there is “some uncertainty associated with the exact trajectory of the low and this will be a factor impacting the amount of rain in each region.”
The public is advised to monitor alerts and forecasts to track the weather system.
