MetalFest comes to Armstrong this weekend

Armstrong will host two days of live metal music and camping this weekend.

Armstrong MetalFest 2022 is underway at the IPE Fairgrounds and Hassen Arena today and Saturday.

The event is making its return after two quiet years due to the pandemic.

“A total of 28 bands from across Western Canada and the USA will be fueling the mosh pit for much-needed music therapy,” said a news release from festival organizers and Asher Media Relations.

Organizers are expecting about 700 “metalheads” for the event which will feature a similar lineup to 2020, just two years later.

“This is the overall biggest lineup we’ve ever put together. It’s going to be wild. I am looking forward to seeing the gang back together again, two years of extra wrinkles and all,” the release said.

Ticket holders for the 2020 event will have them honoured for use to attend this weekend.
