An injured cyclist was rescued by search teams in the Myra Canyon area east of Kelowna.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) and the Kelowna Fire Department responded to the incident Saturday evening (July 16).

“COSAR’s e-bike team arrived first from the Myra Station side of the Kettle Valley Railway and did a medical assessment while the KFD team came in from Ruth Station on their Gator (utility vehicle). The subject was treated for a head injury and transported to a waiting ambulance using the Gator,” a news release from COSAR stated.

COSAR is thanking the Myra Canyon Bicycle Rental employees for their assistance.

The incident was the search group’s 51st task of 2022, and their sixth on the KVR.
