Music in the Park postponed

A popular event in West Kelowna has been put on ice.

Organizers have postponed Music in the Park this Friday (July 29) at Memorial Park because it’s too hot to host the show.

“Recreation and culture staff will work with event planners and performers to determine a new date. Stay tuned! We thank fans for your understanding,” a city news release stated.

The city is passing on a reminder about places the public can stay cool during the current heat warning. In and around West Kelowna:

• Cool off at a local beach or find some shade at one of the City’s parks.
• Take breaks away from the heat by visiting the Westbank Museum or swimming at Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre.

West Kelowna is also extending the hours of the Kids Care Spray Park from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. until further notice.
