Kelowna Community Theatre launches new, in-house box office
Kelowna Community Theatre has opened its own in-house box office just in time for its 60th anniversary season.
Starting today, Aug. 19, theatregoers can purchase tickets for upcoming events through the Kelowna Community Theatre (KCT) website, or in person at the theatre at 1375 Water St.
“With this being our diamond anniversary year, we’re especially excited to bring this new service to the community,” said Caroline Ivey, manager at Kelowna Community Theatre, in a press release.
“Bringing our box office services in-house means it’s easier than ever to see it live in Kelowna. We’re now a one-stop shop for residents and visitors looking to enjoy world-class live entertainment.”
Prior to having its own box office, people needed to purchase tickets to KCT shows through a variety of third-party ticket vendors.
“This approach worked well for ticketing individual shows, but it meant that patrons had fewer opportunities to stop by the theatre itself,” said Ivey.
“Our new box office shrinks the distance between the KCT team and our patrons, leaving us better positioned to provide outstanding customer service, and an unforgettable experience.”
KCT noted that offering in-house box officer services will allow patrons to shop for tickets with confidence, as the number of online resellers has been rising.
The KCT box office will be run by city staff.
