Announcement set for coveted liquor lottery winners

An Okanagan craft distillery has seen incredible interest in a lottery to buy one of its most popular products.

Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery will announce the winners of their 10th anniversary edition Laird of Fintry single-malt whisky lottery on Tuesday, Sept. 27, in what is thought to be Canada’s largest, free-to-enter, premium whisky lottery.

Each year thousands of people join the draw, with the winners getting a chance to purchase a bottle of the three-time World Spirits Awards gold medal-winning liquor. More than 30,000 people have entered the lottery this year.

“This year is going to be extra special as 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Laird of Fintry releases,” said Tyler Dyck, CEO of Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery. “Ten years ago when we released Western Canada’s first authentic single-malt whisky we couldn’t have imagined how coveted these bottles would become, and we are seeing excitement skyrocket with entry numbers that are already surpassing 32,000 entrants, all trying to secure a chance at a bottle of Canada’s most internationally awarded single-malt craft whisky”

Those awards include Gold medal at the 2015, 2017, and 2020 World Spirits Awards and Okanagan Spirits recently took home Artisan Distillery of the Year at the Canadian Whisky Awards.

This year, winners will not only be able to purchase a bottle of the 10th anniversary edition of the original double-wood Fortified Foch finished whisky, but will also be given the opportunity to get their hands on a bottle of Black Label cask-strength Laird of Fintry, a limited-edition which is not officially being released to the general public until the end of October.
