RCMP investigating serious assault
RCMP arrested a suspect after a man was assaulted and was bleeding heavily in Kelowna.
Officers were called to 100 block of Gray Road early this morning (Oct. 5) after a report of a serious assault.
“Evidence indicating a serious assault had occurred but the victim was not located,” Const. Mike Della-Paolera said.
Officers searched the surrounding area and located the 27-year-old male victim from Kelowna with severe injuries on Valleyview Road. The man was taken to hospital and is receiving treatment.
During the initial investigation, officers reviewed video surveillance of the attack on the victim by another male who then left the scene. The suspect was later located and arrested.
“Events like these are disturbing to our community, but thanks to the quick response by RCMP general duty officers, the suspect was arrested and is now in jail,” Della-Paolera, Kelowna RCMP’s media relations officer said.
The investigation into the incident in ongoing.
