Over 1,600 early votes cast in West Kelowna
Hundreds of West Kelowna residents took the opportunity to cast advance votes ahead of the 2022 civic election.
The final advance voting station closed Thursday, and the city said in a release that a total of 1,616 votes were cast at the four advance polls.
The city did not provide specific voter turnout data for each of the four advance voting opportunities.
There are two candidates for mayor i West Kelowna, 13 for the six councillor positons and two for the city’s one seat on the School District 23 board.
General voting day will see West Kelowna residents have the opportunity to vote at three locations Saturday, Oct. 15.
- Westbank Lions Community Centre, 2466 Main St.
- Constable Neil Bruce Middle School, 2010 Daimler Dr.
- Mar Jok Elementary School, 2101 McDougall Rd.
Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
After the polls close, the votes will be counted and a preliminary result will be posted to the City’s website.
The votes will then be reviewed, and the chief election officer will announce the official results at a later date.
