Chamber boss ‘humbled ‘ to join national board
The executive director of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce is now part of the leadership group for a national business organization.
Dan Rogers was appointed to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at the national AGM in Ottawa on October 15.
Rogers, a former mayor of Prince George and broadcaster, is serving as the second vice president with the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada and will represent the CCEC on the Canadian Chamber Board for the next three years.
“I am humbled and honoured to join the Hon. Perrin Beatty and the rest of the Canadian Chamber Board for 2022-2023,” Rogers said following his appointment.
The CCEC is the professional development organization for hundreds of Chamber CEOs and executives involved in the management of chambers of commerce and boards of trade across Canada.
The Canadian Chamber also announced the election of Candace Laing, senior vice pPresident, and chief human resources officer at Nutrien, as chair of its board of directors for 2022-2023.
Rogers’ accomplishments over the past five years include:
• Serving as a Director, President, and Past President for the BC Chamber Executives.
• Serving three years on the executive of the CCEC
• Leading the Kelowna Chamber’s efforts to receive accreditation from the National Chambers Accreditation Council (one of only a handful of chambers in B.C. to receive such designation).
The Kelowna Chamber of Commerce is the largest chamber in B.C.’s Interior, working with 1,000 members, particularly in the arena of policy and advocacy issues of interest to its members.
