Heavy snow and wind expected for Okanagan and other regions
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Okanagan and other parts of B.C., advising residents about an approaching winter storm.
“An intense Pacific cold front will sweep across the interior from north to south late today and tonight,” the weather agency said in the statement.
A period of heavy snow and blowing snow is set to hit most of Interior B.C. Saturday evening (Nov. 26).
Environment Canada is forecasting five to 10 centimetres of snow across many parts of B.C. with up to 25 cm’s on the Coquihalla and Connector.
In addition, northwest winds, with gusts up to 50 km-h, will cause poor visibility for about 2 or 3 hours.
Drivers are reminded to use extra caution when the roads endure blowing snow conditions.
