Some of the impact was due to a big storm in Vancouver which is still causing issues at Vancouver International Airport.

Original story 12:30 p.m.

Around 30 flights were cancelled this morning at Kelowna International Airport (YLW), due to weather conditions in the Okanagan, in Vancouver and throughout Canada.

YLW director Sam Samaddar said a lack of visibility was impacting the planes in Kelowna.

“Our team is working hard to get passengers on their way,” Samaddar said in a news release. “We know these delays can be frustrating, especially during the holiday season, and we thank travellers for their patience.”

Dec. 19 to 27 are the busiest travel days of the season at the airport.

Travellers are advised to check in with their airline for the most up to date flight information before coming to the airport.
