The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) has announced a recruitment drive to fill new and vacant positions for Crown counsel and professional staff in offices throughout B.C.

The service is looking to hire up to 40 Crown counsel in 2023.

“This will include filling vacancies created by the dedication of 21 prosecutors and 21 professional staff to the new repeat violent offender coordinated response teams announced as part of the province’s Safer Communities Action Plan,” Dan McLaughlin, communications counsel, said.

The immediate focus is on lawyers with at least six years of trial experience. For more information about these positions, see the posting here.

Professional and administrative staff positions will be posted in the coming weeks here.

“This is a great opportunity for experienced courtroom lawyers and professional staff to join our innovative team and make a positive impact,” Peter Juk, assistant deputy attorney general, said.
