Freezing rain warning issued

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Coquihalla Highway and Okanagan Connector.

The weather agency said a Pacific frontal system combined with lingering cold air is expected to produce an extended period of freezing rain through Friday night.

The warning said surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

The Fraser Canyon (south near Boston Bar), Manning- Skagit Valley, and Highway 3 (Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass) are also part of the warning.
