Dr. Michael Humer will be on the ballot for BC United in Kelowna Centre at the next provincial election.

The party announced the candidate for the new provincial riding in Kelowna’s downtown core Wednesday, Feb. 7.

“I am honoured to be the BC United candidate for Kelowna Centre,” Humer said in a release.

“I am deeply committed to addressing the pressing concerns of our community and advocating for policies that will create a brighter future for all residents.”

Humer is a physician and has spent the last decades living and working in Kelowna.

The party said he “intimately understands the challenges facing the health-care system” and is committed to improving it for future generations.

“Dr. Humer embodies the values of BC United and has been committed to delivering the highest quality of care to his many thousands of patients throughout his career,” BC United leader Kevin Falcon said.

“BC United is privileged to have him dedicate his full-time energies to helping fix our health-care system. His commitment to serving the people of Kelowna Centre aligns perfectly with our party’s mission to create positive change and build a better future for all British Columbians.”

The next provincial election is scheduled for this October.
