Four for four: Another new heat record for Vernon and Kelowna

Vernon set a new heat record for the fourth straight day on Wednesday (July 10).

The temperature hit 38.2 degrees Celsius, breaking the old mark of 35.8 set in 2021.

Records in the Vernon area have been kept since 1900.

That was one of 17 records tied or set in B.C. communities Wednesday.

The mercury in Kelowna reached 40.3 degrees, smashing the previous high of 37.2 set in 2021.

The Trail area was the hot spot at 40.5 degrees, which was also a record.
