Fatal plane crash near Merritt under investigation

The RCMP have launched an investigation into a Southern Interior plane crash.
Officers responded to a report of a plane that crashed two kilometres north of the Merritt Highway, east of Highway 5A, at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday, July 28.
The RCMP said members arrived at the site of the crash, where a pilot and passenger were each identified and pronounced deceased.
The airplane was a two-seat, homebuilt amphibious aircraft.
Merritt RCMP, the Transportation Safety Board, and the B.C. Coroners Service are working together to determine the factors and causes of the crash.
