Two people injured in Kelowna bus crash, police investigating cause
Police are investigating a bus crash in Kelowna Tuesday evening that caused minor injuries to some passengers.
RCMP said a transit bus travelling east on Springfield Road left the roadway, collided with a light post, and came to rest high centred on a cement barrier near the intersection with Durnin Road at approximately 6:45 p.m. July 30.
Of all the passengers aboard the bus, only two reported having minor injuries.
The RCMP said an investigation had been launched to determine the cause of the crash, though noted there was no evidence in the preliminary investigation to suggest any foul play or criminality.
The RCMP said several passengers left the scene after the crash but before police arrived, and officers wished to speak with those individuals as well as any other witnesses. Anyone with information on the crash was asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 and refer file #2024-43582.
