Environment Canada is warning of a large storm moving over Vernon, Kelowna and the area.
The weather agency said Friday, Aug. 23, that it was tracking a storm moving into the Central Okanagan that was capable of producing thunder and lightning, heavy rain, and nickle sized hail.
It advised people to stay indoors as lighting strikes can be deadly, and large hail is capable of causing injury and damaging property.
It added that heavy downpours can cause flash floods, water pooling on roads, and reduced visibility.
