The Okanagan is seeing some late-August snow in the mountain passes.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the Okanagan Connector Tuesday, Aug. 27, warning of flurries expected along the highway between Kelowna and Merritt.

As of 4:06 p.m. Tuesday, DriveBC webcams showed snow falling near the Pennask Summit.

The weather agency said a low pressure system moving over the Southern Interior is bringing showers and a cooler airmass, resulting in flurries falling in the upper elevations.

Travelers are advised to be prepared for changing and winter-like driving conditions.
