Stair climb event to mark anniversary of 9/11 attack

First responders in Kelowna will mark 9/11 with the sixth annual Ceremony and Stair Climb.

On Wednesday, September 11, the Kelowna Firefighters’ Charitable Society will host an event to honour those who lost their lives on 9/11.

The event at Sutherland Park will begin at 11 a.m. and feature a full honour guard and pipes and drum ceremony.

Following the ceremony, firefighters and other first responders will walk up Knox Mountain drive to simulate how it felt to climb the towers.

The event will be open to the public.
