RCMP identified suspects in incident at Tallus Ridge reservoir

Police have identified the suspects involved in an incident at Tallus Ridge Reservoir.

West Kelowna staff were called out to the reservoir after an alarm went off Thursday evening, and during an inspection suspected deliberate damage was identified in the system. The incident resulted in a Do Not Drink advisory being issued for parts of the Rose Valley System.

West Kelowna RCMP said police identified the suspects Friday, March 20, though no arrests were made and the investigation was ongoing.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident who hadn’t already spoken with officers contact the West Kelowna detachment at 250-768-2880.

West Kelowna RCMP are asking the public for help following suspected intentional damage at the Tallus Ridge water reservoir.

City crews were alerted to an alarm Thursday evening and discovered the damage during checks.

A “do not drink” advisory is now in effect for parts of the Rose Valley system, including Tallus Ridge and Shannon Woods. Police are asking anyone in the Big Sky Drive area between 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday who noticed anything unusual to contact them.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and remind residents to report any suspicious activity to help protect local water infrastructure.
