West Kelowna council had its first look and began deliberations into the draft 2024 budget, which has proposed an initial 11.41 per cent tax increase.
Council has indicated that it would be seeking amendments to make that number lower.
Public consultations should be expected in late January or early February.

Meantime, West Kelowna council has directed staff to schedule a public hearing for a proposed zoning bylaw amendment.
If adopted, it would change the zoning at Shady Acres Mobile Home Park on Marshall Road from Manufactured Home Park to Light Industrial.
The park consists of 27 manufactured home pads and one house.
