BC residents can now get their BC  Vaccine Card online. To receive the QR Code, you will need your Personal Health Number, the date of one covid vaccine and birthday. If doing it on your phone save it into your gallery or print it. It will be required by Sept 27 for entrance to places like restaurants, pubs, casinos, movie theatres and gyms among other public places. In the meantime, the paper vaccine card will serve as proof. You also need photo ID if 19 or older. Get the new card online at http://gov.bc.ca/vaccinecard .  People without computers can get their card by calling 1-833-838-2323 and get a printed copy mailed to them  There were 838 new covid cases over the long weekend in Interior Health.

Sales were down and prices were up across all residential real estate categories in the Central Okanagan last month. The benchmark price of a single family home was up 37% to 962-thousand dollars as there were 25% fewer sales and 48% fewer homes for sale compared to a year ago.

Kelowna RCMP are hoping the public can help them find a guy who tried a home invasion dressed as a utility worker on Monday morning. It happened about 11 in the 200 block of Riverside when an occupant was sprayed with mace, but was still able to stop the suspect from getting in. The guy ran off and police are asking nearby residents to check their home security video systems and dash cams to see if they may have caught the suspect.

The Tower Ranch development is getting its first neighbourhood park in 2022. Tallgrass Park is proposed to include a playground, small entry plaza, terracing, site furnishings, pedestrian pathways, landscaping and irrigation. The city wants to hear from residents, and comments on the proposed design can be left at getinvolved.kelowna.ca .

Almost all the regional district parks that were closed due to the wildfires have been reopened. The only ones that are still closed are Killiney Beach and Coldham, pending final safety assessments. The district parks are open from 6am to 9pm daily until mid October.

And the regional district of has rescinded the remaining Evacuation Alerts for the White Rock Lake wildfire, as well as the State of Local Emergency which has been in effect since July 30. The Kelowna Rockets say 5 goaltenders, 13 defensemen and 20 forwards are at training camp this week. The list includes 4 players from Kelowna. The first preseason game is in one week in Vancouver.
