Penticton has launched a pilot program making transit services free to everyone younger than 24.
The city says the program is the first of its kind in B.C., where people under 24 will receive free transit passes after registering at one of five locations.
The passes will be valid until the end of 2024.
Penticton’s director of safety, Julie Czeck, said the community had identified the lack of mobility as a major challenge facing local youth, and the project is aimed at addressing that issue.
