A raid at a Lake Country residence turned up thousands of dollars worth of stolen items.

A lengthy investigation into Possession of Property Crime in Kelowna and the surrounding areas resulted in a search warrant being executed in the 10000-block of Copper Hill Place Thursday, July 25.

Lake Country RCMP, with assistance from Lake Country’s General Investigation Section (GIS), Kelowna Police Dog Service (PDS), and the South East District Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed the warrant and recovered several thousand dollars worth of stolen veterinary equipment, alcohol, pieces of identification, and ammunition.

A man and woman were arrested at the time, though were later released pending further investigation into the thefts.

“This investigation was driven forward by the dedication and professionalism of the Lake Country RCMP GIS and frontline officer teams,” Cpl. Ryder Birtwistle, Lake Country RCMP’s media liaison, said.

“The ERT and PDS units were instrumental in deploying specialized equipment and tactics to ensure a safe entry and arrest. This project and search warrant was in line with the detachment priority of targeting and reducing property crime. Lake Country RCMP will continue to target all criminal activity in the community.”

Anyone with information that could further the investigation is asked to contact the Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288, or file an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers online or at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
