A new active transportation corridor in the Central Okanagan is being supported by investments from upper levels of government.

A combined investment of just over a million dollars will be used to build a 2.6 kilometre stretch of a new multi-use active transportation pathway between the Town of Peachland and Goats Peak Regional Park in West Kelowna.

The federal government said the section of the trail “is a key link of a 250km pan-Okanagan Valley trail.”

The federal government will provide $356,400 for this project, on condition of a funding agreement being signed by the District of Peachland. The District will also contribute $294,296, with the provincial government adding another $420,236 for the project.
