Crash closes westbound lanes of HWY 97 in Kelowna

Kelowna RCMP are warning of a crash that caused a partial closure of Highway 97.

Mounties said the crash occurred around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, August 29, and involved multiple vehicles on the highway north of the Costco.

Police closed two of the westbound lanes of Highway 97 from Powick to Banks Roads as the investigation into the crash continues.

“The incident is still under investigation and the RCMP is encouraging anyone with dash cam footage to contact the RCMP” Sergeant Laura Pollock, Media Relations Officer with the Kelowna RCMP, said.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area until the investigation has concluded and the road can fully reopen.
