Over 900 gifts donated to the Stuff a Cruiser campaign in the Central Okanagan
RCMP in Kelowna and the Central Okanagan are hailing the Stuff a Cruiser events as a success.
Mounties set up two donation locations in Kelowna on the weekend of Dec. 5, and through these efforts were able to collect 418 unwrapped toy donations, along with $962 in cash.
Similar events were held in Lake Country and West Kelowna.
The toy drive in Lake Country collected 306 unwrapped presents, while the West Kelowna event saw people donate 200 toys and $887.15 in cash.
These totals of 924 unwrapped toys and $1,849.15 in cash will be donated to the Central Okanagan Salvation Army, which in turn will provide the donations to people in need.
“Every year it’s incredible to see the community support,” Reserve Constable Mike Kube of the Kelowna RCMP, said.
“Thank you to everyone who donated. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated, especially in this economic climate.”
