RCMP renew call for information related to the murder of a woman in 2020
The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are again asking for any information related to the murder of Erin Chelsea Borgford.
Borgford’s body was discovered on Sept. 20, 2020, following reports of a vehicle fire on Louis Estates Rd, just off Westside Rd.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and discovered human remains inside the vehicle, which led to front line officers securing the potential crime scene and calling in support from major crime investigators.
An autopsy was performed, which confirmed that the remains were that of Erin Borgford, a 27-year-old woman who had been residing in Whitehorse at the time of death.
“This week marks the anniversary of the discovery of Erin’s remains. While the investigation remains active and on-going and a continued priority for the officers investigating her death, they continue to seek more information,” states Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the BC RCMP.
“We are releasing two new photos of the burned out vehicle that Erin’s remains were discovered in, in the hopes that it may jog someone’s memory and to encourage those who have information to come and speak with police.”
