A Kelowna man is celebrating a life-changing lottery win after scratching a Set for Life ticket.
Clifford F. won the game’s top prize, choosing a lump sum payout of $675,000 after initially being confused by the word “annuity” when checking his ticket on the BCLC Lotto! App.
“I knew what the word meant, but in this context I wasn’t too sure,” he said, adding a cousin first thought the ticket was worth just $15.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Save-On-Foods on Dobbin Road in West Kelowna.
Clifford plans to celebrate with trips to Mexico and Las Vegas for his birthday, calling the win “grateful, fortunate and unbelievable.”
Set for Life’s top prize can also be taken as $1,000 a week for 25 years.
