More than 135 people from across the Okanagan will gather in Kelowna Tuesday for a sold-out summit focused on strengthening the region’s food system.
The Region of Plenty: Okanagan Food System Summit at Okanagan College will bring together farmers, Indigenous leaders, food producers, businesses and community organizations to discuss local food production, food access and sustainability.
The program includes a session on Indigenous food sovereignty and a closing discussion on regional food infrastructure, including food processing, storage and distribution.
The summit runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Okanagan College’s Kelowna campus.
